Chevrolet and the CICC Celebrate Camaro's
35th Anniversary

Chevrolet and the Central Indiana Camaro Club hosted a 35th Anniversary Celebration of the legendary American automobile on Saturday, September 1, at the National Hot Rod Association’s 47th annual U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Hundreds of Camaro enthusiasts traveled to Indianapolis from all across the United States and Canada to participate in this once in a lifetime event. The half-mile oval track adjacent to the drag strip was nearly full of classic Camaros throughout the day.
Participants visited the famous Camaro Legends Tour
Also making one of it's earliest appearances were lots of the actual 35th Anniversary Camaros.
To help commemorate the event, Jim Epler’s nitro-powered Camaro Funny Car sported a special 35th anniversary paint scheme during race weekend.
There was a “Show and Shine”. Judging of Camaros was by a panel of celebrity judges from Chevrolet’s racing contingency with the winners receiving special awards.
A Saturday evening cookout was included in the package with key speakers and a driver autograph session.
On Sunday, participants in the 35th Anniversary Party took part in a parade lap around the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
