Club cars lined up at Beech Grove Show in September

Club Christmas Party, December 5th 2005

The annual Club Christmas Party will be held on December 5th at our regular monthly membership meeting. These meetings are held on the first Monday of every month (except holidays) at Kenny Brown Performance on Gasoline Alley in Indianapolis. The club will be providing the meat, drinks, and dinnerware. The meal style will be a pitch in and the club asks that members with last names starting with A-M bring Casseroles, salads, vegetables, or any hot dish. Members with last names starting with N-Z should bring desserts. Hope to see everyone there!

The Year in Review

As the year closes down and people stow their cars away, we can reflect on the year the Camaro Club has had. Some highlights of this year’s activities were the 2 attempts at the April and May Bedford Cruise, June Go Carting, August Picnic, July Dyno Day, September Beech Grove Show, and the finally successful October Bedford Cruise.

We started the year in April with our Annual Bedford Cruise. This is always a club favorite and involves a road trip from Nashville Indiana down twisty Indiana 135 to US50, over to Bedford and back to Nashville. Unfortunately, the Spring Bedford Cruise was cancelled due to weather…twice. Fortunately, though, we were able to reschedule it for October 8th. Even with high gas prices, the event was a big success and we even inspired one or two individuals that couldn’t attend, to run the route solo and discover the beauty that southern Indiana had to offer.

The next big event was a go carting day on June 18th. A group of speed fanatics from the group went out to New Castle to go carting for the day.

In July, we had a club dyno day and pitch in lunch at Kenny Brown’s on Gasoline Alley. Several members brought their cars out to have them Dyno’d. Danny Steele was the top dog of the day with 377 hp. Danny drive’s a Red 383 powered SS Camaro.

In August was the annual club picnic. Turnout was low, but fun was had by all and almost everyone went home with door prizes!

In September was the Camaro Club’s first show in recent memory. The club volunteered to run a Car Show at the Beech Grove Fall Festival. Member turnout at this show was very high and it was well appreciated. The show was a huge success and everyone that attended seemed to have a good time.

Not tied to any event is the great work that Keygan and Kim Spencer did on the club’s webpage. They went through and completely revamped it with an updated look and updated features. If you haven’t checked it out yet, take a look at http://www.indycamaro.com.

Finally, in December will be our annual Club Christmas party. This is an annual tradition that will sport games and prizes for kids and adults alike. It will be held during our regular business meeting on December 5th at Kenny Brown Performance.

A Letter from Your Club President:

Dave Rynard is in the Hospital for the writing of this newsletter, so this letter is actually from your Club Secretary.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dave Rynard for 2 years of dedicated service as president. Dave has poured his heart into trying to revive the club even amid lingering health problems and the lack of a Camaro in production to help keep the Camaro spirit alive.

The last 2 years have seen many changes for the better in the club. From a new website to a more regular event schedule, Dave has really helped to revive the club and help it break new ground with new members and new events.

So Dave, I am sure I speak for all club members when I say ‘Thank You’ and we all want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you battle your health problems. We all hope that the New Year brings with it a new, healthier Dave Rynard to run our club meetings!

Sincerely,

Greg Franks

Secretary, Central Indiana Camaro Club

New Logo Contest

Dave Rynard, CICC President, has asked that creative or not so creative club members help to design a new Camaro Club Logo. He would like to see the club name and the state incorporated in the logo somehow. This logo will be used for t-shirts, window stickers, and all club mail. Submissions will be voted on by the membership at a later date.

On the message board, a suggestion was made for the ‘not-so-creative’ to post up ideas to help spur others with photo shop or artistic talent to put the idea on ‘paper’.
