April Meeting Notes 4/4/06

• 13 people in attendance, including Terri Sterling, who came in and spoke about Bill Bushman. Bill Bushman is a local camaro owner who has recently developed a cancerous tumor that they cannot treat. Terri Sterling and friends are working to raise money to help Bill pay off his loan on his camaro so that he can leave the car to his two sons. She will be emailing contact info and a picture of Bill with his camaro. We’ll put something on our CICC website to see if anyone wants to make a donation or has ideas on anyone else who may be able to help them out.

• Upcoming Shows discussed:
o April 29th-Anything on Wheels, Mooresville, IN
o May 6th-Bud Wolf All GM Show at Bud Wolf Chevrolet on Keystone Ave
o May 6th-Spring Blossom Parade in Nashville, IN

o Indpls Motor Speedway holding an event for all Indy 500 pace/festival cars
(Kim will be putting a link on our website out to the upcoming shows with the show flyers and links to their individual websites.)

• Upcoming Events discussed:
o April 29th-Bedford Cruise and dinner. (restaurant to be named as the Windmill just changed hands, we’re not sure if it will be open or not) We will meet at the IGA parking lot instead of the school parking lot, for easier access to get out (less traffic). Doug will post this info on the website and it will be in the newsletter coming out Mid-April.

• Reminder of Dues being due by end of January yearly. Member list was purged at the end of March. Gary is going to send one final letter to those who did not pay dues yet.

• CICC Shirt orders: pricing is being obtained for 2-3 different types of shirts. We’ll try to place a bulk order April-May. We will try to get pricing info together by the May meeting. (our contact has been out due to Spring break)

• Window Clings have been ordered and 2 will be given to each paid member. We’ll post an announcement when they come in. They will be brought to any outings or meetings that occur after they are in, so that members can pick theirs up.

• Drag Day
o Dave checked into Bean Blossom track, they are asking $2300 to rent the track for an entire day. However, they would be willing to create a new class for CICC and let us run on their normal drag days at the normal cost, and would be tracking scoring for us.
o Chino let us know that Indypala SS club has a drag day upcoming at Muncie and our club would be welcome to attend.
o Greg Harrell is looking into some other drag tracks.

Discussed planning a go karting event. We previously went to New Castle and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Jerry Wright mentioned maybe considering Whiteland as well, they have a nice track.

Doug discussed the 60 Minutes episode from Sunday night. Bob Lutz was a guest and they discussed the concept car. Also discussed the GM/Delphi financial loss, employee buyouts, etc.

Dave proposed an upcoming event of a cruise down to Jeffersonville, Indiana. There is a Star dinner cruise that runs both lunch and dinner cruises on the weekends, along with a very nice cruise on the river.
