Feb. 2010
Central Indiana Camaro Club
February 1st Meeting Notes
Met
Bill Estes Chevrolet
Discussed upcoming events:
· Bowling
Event Feb. 28th 12:00PM at Expo Bowl I-465 and S. Emerson. In
addition the Firebird club, the GTO and Impala club will be there as well.
· World of
Wheels Feb. 12-14th. We will have a club car from the first 4 generations and possibly a 5th
gen. as well. Next year hope to have more of a club event so members can display their car as well.
· We
have been invited to the Pedder’s Day event at Raymond’s Alignment on Mar. 20th for a demo on their
suspension system upgrades.
Items
discussed:
·
We discussed amendments to club by-laws and had a couple of amendments to the amendments. Hopefully will
get a copy of them to all members to review. Plan on having a vote to adopt amended by-laws at the Mar. meeting if there are
no further changes.
· Discussed the funds currently in the
club’s account. We are still trying to finalize and determine the club’s tax status and tax I.D. number.
·
We discussed obtaining new sponsors to help pay for club activities and possible shows and getting some
exposure for current sponsor Bill Estes Chevrolet. Officers will be working on that.
· Discussed
upgrading the current web-site and message board, currently still working on it but it should be soon. We have also obtained
a P.O. box for the club for all correspondence to be mailed.
· We discussed
having an annual spring car show like the Bud Wolf Spring Fling to help promote the club and out sponsors. We have a location
available to us at Speed Services in Brownsburg. It is the former Carson Ford facility and has a large lot for show purposes.
·
Also we discussed having the meetings at a new location. Although we appreciate being able to meet at
Estes, at times the room is a bit small to accommodate us, and the winter hours ending at 8:00 PM make it difficult to get
a lot done and have any socializing time afterward. Speed Services mentioned in the above bullet would be very happy to has
us meet there. The have a large facility, meeting room, and parking lot for shows and such. Plus we wouldn’t have an
8:00 time limit. Speed Services is at 1500 E. Main St. in Brownsburg, 1.5 miles west of O.R.P.
Member Voting:
· A vote was
taken as to having an annual Spring show, it was overwhelmingly approved. We will work on the details at future meetings but
hope to have one at the end of April, first of May this year.
· Also vote on having the
March meeting at Speed Services on a trial basis to see how everyone likes it. It also was overwhelmingly approved. We will
be voting at that meeting as to making it our permanent new meeting place.
