2010

Central Indiana Camaro Club

March 1st Meeting Notes

Met at SPEED SERVICE PERFORMANCE CENTER LLC, 1500 E. Main St., Brownsburg, IN.

Discussed the following:

·         Briefly reviewed Feb. meeting notes.

·         Reviewed amended By-Laws and two additions not on the copies mailed with newsletter; Article 2 Sec. 4-Allow proxy vote for members that cannot attend upcoming meeting, Article 5-Detailed sale of club property upon club dissolution. Open vote was taken and adoption of amended By-Laws was passed by wide-margin. New By-Laws to be posted on web-site.

·         Adjourned briefly to enjoy great Pizza provided by our host Chuy of Speed Service Performance Center.  THANKS CHUY!

·         Discussed date for Open Spring show at Speed Service rain or shine. Due to conflicts with other shows it was voted to have show on Saturday May 8th, 2010. Entry fee will be $15.00 with Top 25 and Best Of Show trophies by spectator voting. Dash plaques and goodie bags to the first 50 attendees. Due to fairly the short time before the show, promotion to be focused mainly on car show and club web-sites such as oldcarsonly.com, CICC, Indypala, Firebird and GTO. Hoping to have Hogs Head Barbeque provide food and drinks, Matthew Lakin to provide DJ duties.

·         There are two cruises coming up; Firebird Club Mystery Cruise on Sun. April 18th, and GTO Club tentatively scheduled for Sat. May 15th. Both open to CICC members. The more the merrier!

·         Steve Ellis displayed our WORLD OF WHEELS 2nd place club display award plaque which also netted the club $150! The club had 5 cars and was awarded 6 plaques!

·         Mentioned our new updated web-site and Facebook page for those that haven’t seen it yet.

·         Also mentioned Feb. newsletter that was mailed fairly recently and polled to see if members in attendance had received it.

·         Looking for volunteers to help work the PEDDER’S DAY show we will be hosting at Raymond’s Alignment, 3828 Clarks Creek Rd., Plainfield IN. Pete of Pedder’s Suspension will be bringing his highly modified 2010 Camaro weather permitting, and there will be other project cars on display that are undergoing suspension upgrades. Should be a fun day!

·         It was voted to postpone the vote making Speed Service Performance Center our permanent meeting place until the April meeting to consult with Bill Estes Chevrolet concerning our not meeting there since they are a club sponsor.  THE APRIL MEETING WILL HOWEVER TAKE PLACE AT SPEED SERVICE PERFORMANCE CENTER. Members in attendance found Speed Service to be a great site reminiscent of when we met at Kenny Brown Performace Center, and it was also nice to not have a time limit imposed on the meeting as we had at Estes. Also a good geographical location for many members as well.

·         Still working on design for new club T-Shirts and what logo to appear on them that won’t be subject to any Trademark infringements problems. Will be checking with our GM contacts concerning this.

·         Went around the room and allowed all attendees and new members to introduce themselves and their cars.

·         We had a special guest, the President of the Firebird club Scott Scheel. Even though the GTO and Indypala members tore up the lanes at the recent bowling event, it seems that the Camaro Club did defeat the Firebird club in scoring totals, so Scott awarded us with the COVETED bowling trophy. Scott is a great guy and very interesting and outgoing and we all very much enjoyed the stories he regaled us with. Wouldn’t mind having him at ALL our meetings!

As you can see it was quite a meeting and a lot was discussed and accomplished without being limited in time. Also time to mingle after the meeting adjourned. Hope more of you can make the meetings in the future!
