June 7th Meeting Notes

Met at SPEED SERVICE PERFORMANCE CENTER LLC, 1500 E. Main St., Brownsburg, IN., 7:00PM.  Meeting was held the second Monday of the month due to the Memorial Day holiday. Also President Ellis and V.P Esteb were attending the POWER TOUR and unable to attend the meeting, so we had a slightly more informal meeting than usual. Here are most of the highlights:

·         Reviewed the May meeting notes which mostly covered the upcoming show.

·         Discussed how our May 8^th show went. Considering the weather, turn out was fairly good. We did not however have the final financial figures yet.

·         Kay has been rather busy and hasn't been able to spend much time working on getting the club tax status ironed out but promised she will get to it soon.

·         Reviewed the proposed amendment to the club by-laws to add a Media Director Position as discussed and voted on at the May Meeting. We will vote to approve the amended by-laws at the July meeting.

·         It was suggested that we should have a club cruise event to somewhere, so we all need the think about a destination and a day to do so!

·         Briefly discussed the Fall show we've got in the works, but without Steve or Tim we didn't cover a lot. Need to work on this at the next meeting!

·         Had a lot of discussion of upcoming car shows. I'll list them below.

·         Had a couple of new and recently joined members in attendance so we had them introduce themselves and their cars, and then went around the room for all members to introduce themselves.

·         Went spent a bit of time just shootin' the,,,,, ahem , breeze. Reminisced about some shows of the past and former members (one honorary)  and things that had happened with them.

So it was sort of a light meeting but still fun. Dennis showed up in his new #22 Festival car he was able to obtain to match last years #22 he owns.  A LOT of members brought out their Camaros since the weather was nice.

Here are a few upcoming car shows we discussed:

·         Indy GTO Association sponsored by RETRO TECH June 19^th in Brownsburg. An open show, more info at indygto.blogspot.com

·         We discussed the Mustang Club of Indianapolis' upcoming show June 25 – 27^th. It was thought this was on open show, however checking their site it appears that is is a Ford only show so I guess we're not welcome. Oh well.

·         The Danville American Legion is having a top 30 show on the 4^th of July. Registration is from 8:00 to 12:00, $15 with awards at 3:00. For more info call Ken at 317-709-3625 or 317-745-2125.

Those are the only ones I managed to get the info on.
