2011
Central Indiana Camaro Club
September 12th Meeting Notes
Met at Midwest Performance Hardware
(MPH), 4155 N 1000E (Wally Parks Dr) Suite C, Brownsburg, IN. at 7:00PM.
Due to the Labor Day holiday we met the second Monday
this month.
·
Reviewed the August
meeting notes.
· The weekly club cruise-in location has been changed.
We now meet at the Sonic/Mejier parking lot near the intersection of Raceway and Rockville roads. It provides a much larger,
nicer lot for our cars and has bathroom facilities available! Meeting time is 7:00 ish. We had stated that they would be held
up to/through September, but have extended that through October if/when the weather is still nice. This coming cruise-in on
the 17th with the Goodguys show in town the SML group will also be having a cruise-in at this location. Also it was discussed
not having one set location for this and sort of doing a round-robin sort of thing on different sides of town for those that
don't live on the west side. Possible locations; Moorseville, Noblesville, Washington Square, Brownsburg, the Suds, etc.
More on that later.
· We had several members in attendance at the Carmel
Artomobilia show in both the club corral and show car areas. I know I really enjoyed the diversity of the cars at the show
and the location as well. A few of the members did lunch at the famous “Bub's Burgers and Ice Cream.” Our
hot dog loving member John Conklin branched out and represented the club well by polishing off a huge “Big Ugly”
burger and will be immortalized with his picture on the wall. Be sure and check out our Facebook page for pictures.
·
Had a great club turn
out at the WWII Memorial Show in Avon August 21st with 23 cars in attendance, which netted us the Club Participation
award now proudly hanging at our MPH meeting site!
·
Steve has received out
new higher quality club pens after returning the old ones. He did not have them with him but should be handing them out soon
at our next meeting or other club events.
·
The Nashville cruise
is coming up Sunday October 9th. We will be meeting at Penske at about 8:00 am for coffee and
donuts and departing from there at 8:30, Will make a brief stop in Moorseville to pick up anyone who lives south
of Indy etc. that wants to go some time after 9:00 or whenever we get there. EDIT: Steve has since learned that we will not be able to meet at Penske. We will be
meeting at the Mooresville Kroger parking lot at 9:00 am and departing from there. Have to provide your own coffee and doughnuts.
BTW this event is open and you need not be a member to join the fun! Be sure to check our message board and/or Facebook
page for any further updates.
· Dennis is feverishly preparing to host our club
picnic that will be on Saturday Oct. 22nd. Getting floors painted and everything!!! There will be a map/directions
posted on our message board and Dennis will have some directions signs posted as well. IF I WERE YOU I WOULDN”T MISS
THIS, SHOULD BE A GREAT TIME FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES/CHILDREN! Club will provide the en-tree and members with last
names A-M should bring a dessert, N-Z and side dish. If you just can't decide,,, BRING BOTH!
·
We had our usual upcoming
car show discussion, fewer shows coming up with the season winding down but still quite a few shows coming
up. For any details or shows that memebrs will be attending please see our message board/Facebook page.
·
BREAKING AND
EXCITING NEWS!!!! The club
now has two new honorary positions of “Club Historians” that will be performed by Steve McNett and John Conklin.
They will be documenting and photographing our club events as well as write some articles for the club. The idea is to create
a new “past events” forum on our message board as well as get more activity on the club message board to help
us remember who was where and how much fun we had! Also will be posting on our Face book page as well. It is really important
to let outsiders see what activities we as a club have been up to and how active we are, and many look to our message board
to gauge this. This will really be a great thing for the club IMO. Thanks to Steve and John for their enthusiasm and willingness
to take this on. Way to go guys!!!!!
· We then did our usual round of introductions to
help us all get to know one another.
A great meeting with some great new developments. Kudos to our president Steve Ellis, V.P.
Tim Esteb, and all the other officers in trying to make the club the best it can be!

CICC Secretary
